The M#245 is Atelier Z’s modern take on the classic 34" scale bass platform — combining traditional tonewoods with powerful active electronics for expanded tonal control.
Built with an Ash body and Maple 1-piece neck, it delivers fast attack, strong note definition, and a tight, focused low end. The natural resonance of the wood is enhanced by a responsive onboard preamp, making this instrument highly responsive in live performance settings.
At its core is the Bartolini XTCT + Spectrum Boost preamp — a low-noise, 3-band EQ system offering precise control over bass, mid, and treble frequencies. This circuit is derived from the well-known TCT platform, associated with Marcus Miller, and is known for its transparency, headroom, and musical response.
Equipped with Atelier Z JBZ-4 pickups, the M#245 retains clarity and articulation across playing styles — from clean fingerstyle to punchy slap tones.
Hand-built in Japan, every detail — from the Gotoh hardware to the original Atelier Z bridge — reflects a focus on reliability, consistency, and performance.
